Water pumps are easy to put in. I have done it on a 40 yamaha.
That said there may be more wrong with the motors, but for 125 I might take a chance.

Its hard to trust people these days, but he says that they both run fine if those were installed. Said they both have good compression. I dunno. It might be worth it to give it a shot.

The owner of the other boat just agreed to give me a trolling motor to use. It is a 50 lb thrust foot operated. Should I even bother trying to take it out with just that? Not sure how maneuverable it will be having to go by my foot. I've only seen them used when fishing, never as the main propulsion.

Aside from the motor first thing I would check THOROUGHLY on a boat sitting up for 15 years would be the bearings and seals on the trailer. I can almost guarantee you if it's been sitting up that long you need new bearings better to find out in your yard than on the side of the road with a hub welded onto your axle.

It didn't have a trailer. It was leaned up against the side of her house. It is in shockingly good shape too. Better shape than the other one which was being used on occasion. I pulled it on the trailer in the picture I posted. Because it is a different length, and slightly different hull shape, it wasnt a perfect fit. Was good enough to be safe though

Thoughts?

Buy them both, fix them and keep them, those are really easy repairs, really easy.
But be careful in those narrow boats.

Also,if it has been sitting for 15 years, check the wood in the back end where the motor mounts, that is called the transom, that wood is probably rotted and needs replacing.

I'm not that much of a newb.

It seemed ok in a quick once over, I'm thinking about replacing it anyway.
