anyone ever use a dune buggy for everyday transportation in their younger days?

I wish I lived in a state where my SxS was street legal.
rode it in PA on the roads when there was over 3" of snow legally but it only happens a few times a year.

I'm gathering parts to build an Ultra4 buggy as a daily driver.
It's fairly easy in louisiana. Anything under 1500 lbs doesn't even require fenders.
If you wanna see what it's like for cheap, buy a small 4 door sidekick, 3 inch body lift, and do a 3 inch suspension lift.
Install a set of 35s, a set of headers, and a 2.5in exhaust, then thrash the balls out of it.

I drove one in WV. somebody in our group bought one.
it seemed fine for light road travel. He broke an axle 3 miles into our ride. don't think it can handle big time offroading.
