Looking to get a new utility trailer. We have a 12' that is too short and the 20' I use for multiple ATVs is moving to MS. Looking at both Big Tex and Pro-Pull mainly because they are all over LA Sportsman, but open to other brands.

Looking for a tandem 16' around 6.5' wide. Trailer brakes would be nice, but not necessary.

What brands do yall like and or recommend?

I was thinking brakes are "required" on trailers with more than one axle.

The max weight you plan to haul is a critical question.

3 ATVs or 2 ATVS and 1 ZTR at once. No tractors or vehicles. A light duty trailer is all I am after.

To me, determine the max weight, then cover that weight with the right axle. If one axle is enough, use it. Tandem axle trailers are a PIA, unless needed.

If your load is light enough, forget brakes. Something else to break and maintain.

I had a Pro-pull tandem and it was fine. Best or best value? I don't know. They make them in Greenwell Springs, so there's something for a local manufacture (if you're local.)

I was only saying tandem because of the 16' length. But you're right, its going to be a light load even if fully loaded if only with ATVs and ZTR. I have a 12k 20' for heavier stuff.

I am local, but like best bang for buck too.

You can get a single axle 8 lug trailer to match your truck in case you have a trailer tire blowout. Most of the 8 lug trailer axles are rated for 7500lbs.

Mike Gerald has good prices. I like Pro Pull trailers the best though

Look to be same quality as Big Tex, but cheaper.

Hows that 6.0 holding up? Thinking about getting one when I get rid of this 6.7. Might wait until 2017 to see what Ford releases and if GM ups the power of theirs.

Great engine. Have an EVAP leak somewhere by the gas tank now. Other than that, everything is rock solid

I've had a 14 dual axle Wells Cargo that I bought right after Katrina.

I only use it once or twice a year, but it is bulletproof .

Well made and reliable.

I deal with these guys when we buy trailers for work. They are dealers for a number of different lines and have done a good job of helping to sort out what we need for a particular situation.

Cowboy Trailers

ETA: they also have a good link of what they have in inventory and what they can get along with prices...

I special ordered a Big Tex from Northshore Trailer. They told me 6 week wait time.....going into week 9 now. Keep that in mind if you order a Big Tex.

Big Tex is trash. I see more of them deteriorate faster than any other brand.

I have 5 utility trailers and have been through a few cargos. I only buy Maxey Trailers these days. They are the best for the money and no details are skipped in their build quality.

Those look great, but more more heavy duty than what I need. It will be a specialty purpose trailer that wont even get much use.

I would price these guys if you don't mind driving to Alexandria. Family owned and been in the business a long time. I've bought some from them and they were very well built.
