I found mine on Craigslist. Excellent shape, paid half the price, even got a aqua bound paddle out of it

Most people want what they paid for them. Tough to find one cheap

My first was a Massey's demo.

I bought my touring kayak for $700.
14'6" Necky Manitou retail $1300-1500. And the guy threw in the aqua bound paddles because it was my first kayak. He even drive from Baton Rouge and met me in Natchez.
Edit: For $700 though, this brand new is $550 LINK

PP recommended that one aswell.
$700 total everything. Hoping to catch a used one that has paddles and such included

I joined a mississippi kayak group on FB and while people don't post that often, half the posts are of people selling yaks. Most of the members seem to be on the coast fyi.
Craigslist is going to be your best bet though. They usually retain high resale value because a used one is, other than some scrathes/scuffs, good as new. Like ladders; No real moving parts and used ones fuction just like new.
Smart move buying used imo. I'd rather have an extra couple hundred bucks than factory new on something like a kayak.

Masseys has some fantastic prices on some of their demo fleet- as mentioned previously, there is a list with prices on BCKFC website. If you're looking for $700 out the door, you could pick up one of the ones on sale for around $500 and then pick up a paddle and lifejacket and have all the basics for around the price you're looking to spend.

^^ This is what I did a couple months ago. You can also check the backpacker in Baton Rouge and pack and paddle in Lafayette. Give them a call and they will let you know what demos they have and also give some direction for what fits you based on what you want to do in it

This is what I would recommend.
I lucked out and bought a 12ft Native Ultimate from a guy for $500 by word of mouth.

My sister has 2 she would like to get rid of but they're in G. Shores. Her husband bought them and died suddenly before ever putting them in the water. It will be April before anybody is down there to try and sell them.
How do I figure out what they are and how much to sell/ask for them?
