nothing I can think of really, just pay attention to the tide if it is dropping, don't want the boat to get stuck and you unexpectantly have to spend the night out there

UPDATE:

We decided to make the run Tuesday and it was a perfect day to do so. We went to "smugglers cove" and the water stayed deep enough to get the boat up to the shore. We had a great time and I will be going back again someday. Thanks for all the info you guys gave, it helped a lot. Here is a few pics I took:

Y'all enjoying BSL otherwise? Hit trivia last night? I've never seen it so crowded. Everywhere else seemed dead though. Summer must be over.

Years ago I did well just drifting (or trolling) on the south side from the mouth of lLittle Bay to the west point. The bottom was bare sand interspersed with patches of grass. Over every patch of grass, we'd get a speck or two. Also wade fishing the west point was productive.
If you want to catch reds, the Bay (St. Louis) is vastly underrated. I fished it heavily and almost never saw another boat.

Saw 3 or 4 boats fishing that south side, don't know if they had any luck or not but they did have a few spots that would get 4 or 5 feet deep and I could see the grass on the sand like you described. May be worth a shot next time.

Did y'all eat/drink at any local places? We have reservations for the Sycamore House tonight, I'm stoked.

next weekend I will be having drinks with the owner of Cat Island. We will be toasting his son and daughter in law on their wedding day.
