Thing feels WAY more substantial than the Griptilians I’ve owned. I’m impressed out of the box for sure…anyone here carry this?

Update: I hated this blue spacer…but I picked it and the brass pivot collars.

So I replaced both with a set of Dragonfly Ghost Jade G10s.

All things right with the world now. May put the brass pivot collars back on.

I have a custom fullsize Crooked River. Griptilians, like most partial-linered polymer scaled knives are going to compromise the feel of solidness for weight. Even the 940's feel more solid. AWT makes custom aluminum scales for Griptilians as well as several other brands/models. My Griptillians and Freek have AWT scales, heavier but very solid.

I have a full-size crooked river. Sombitch is too damn big so it just sits in a drawer.

I got a Grizzly Creek a few year back. Good camping/hunting knife but too big for EDC.

Crossbar locks have gone out if favor with me. And now everybody has versions.

But that's a nice looking knife. I like the wood or natural (jade) mikarta.

I also really like bolsters on knives.

ETA: jade g10, not mikarta

Custom? Where did you get it? That clip is wrong for that knife which makes me think it’s a fake. Benchmade is the most copied knife in the world. I agree though, the mini crooked river is one of my favorites.

Edit* It’s been awhile, but sadly that is a fake. You just don’t find those scales with a black blade in 20cv and that clip. There are tons of clones on eBay, but even gold class or custom you won’t find it on a real Benchmade. Some of the clones are solid, but not real. I hate to be the bearer of bad news and could be wrong, but I don’t think so.

Edit* It would help to also post pics of the logo on the other side of the blade and more importantly the box that it came in inside and out. The box usually tells the story.

I ordered it from Benchmade. Here’re some of the order details.

Ahh sweet. Yeah you’re good then! Benchmade regularly changes their options on what you can and can’t get on any given knife and I know a couple years ago lots of this color combination were going around on eBay as fakes. I have a mini and the full size. The full size is way too big for edc.

Dude. Benchmade has offered a custom shop for at least three years. You can get all kinds of exotic steels on different models. I’ve been very tempted to do a Bugout in S90. Expensive, but scary sharp.

Pretty knife Gaston.

My FIL had a new Benchmade this past week he showed me.
It’s the 748 Narrows with the M390 blade.

It could possibly be the perfect EDC knife (except for the price). It’s unbelievably thin and very light.

I've got a PM2 in S90v. Love the steel but use diamonds for sharpening unless you like doing it for a long time.

First thing I cut with this knife was myself. Tried to cut some bananas at the grocery and knifed myself. Had to get across the store and open up some paper towels…had a handful of blood…

I have the mini and full size crooked river and both are fantastic knives. I like the mini better overall. The grizzly creek is a better full size knife than the crooked river.

mini crooked river > grizzly creek > full size crooked river.

All beautiful knives with wooden handles. Lifers...

I recently got the Osborne Auto and the first thing I cut with it was myself. Wasn’t a bad cut and felt like an idiot, but that blade opens with a purpose.
