So after losing our dog my wife has been scouring the Facebooks posting our dogs info hoping to get a hit.

In the process, she ran across this fella and is absolutely infatuated with saving this old dog.

Sounds to me like someone dropped him off or something, they said he roamed the neighborhood looking for his home until he collapsed.

The adoption folks estimate he is 10 or more. I say around 7-8, what say you?

Meet Gumbo the new old addition.

I have no idea how to age him, but that is a great looking dog who needs a forever home.

Subject line reminded me of this. But seriously, I say 8-10.

Going to see him tomorrow morning at 9:30.

So I'll check it out then, and if he doesn't try to eat my 10 month old I'm guessing he will be riding home with us.

Looks like a sweet old man who just wants someone to love and a place to call home for the last few years of his life.

he doenst look 10 to me, I would agree with your estimate of 7-8

where is he located? just curious, saw a post about a lost yellow lab in lakeview or Metairie yesterday

where and when did you lose yours and what was it?

I would like to see a picture of him standing because then we can see a picture of his hips and stance. I would say if he is ten he looks to be a young ten from those pictures.

Will update with pictures tomorrow when we see him/get him.

They did say he has some hip dysplasia and a couple non cancerous fatty spots. Which is no indicator of age since my parents lab had both of those by age 3.

Enjoy your new dog

There's no way you can go meet that old guy and not being him home.

I'm going with ~8 as well. He looks awesome either way. Think of how greatful he'll be to have a family again. Do it.

I have a Beagle/JRussell that we rescued about about two years ago. I swear everytime she looks at me she's just so thankful to be there.

This is what I'm thinking. Good looking old soul looking for a home.
