VERY short video (no fancy editing or nothing like that), but some cool film we got this weekend. It's hard to get close enough to these things to film well, but this little dude got pretty pissed off at our GoPro and started attacking it. Young and dumb, they say.

I've never been able to get close enough to them to film like that. I threw a fly at him a couple times and he wouldn't eat, so my friend stuck the GoPro in the water thinking he'd spook.

Wayyy different behavior than I've ever experienced from them. We scooped him with the net, tagged him, and released.

They can be some pompous chodes, but they're easily one of my favorites. Once I get my fly rig set up I'll probably have an unhealthy obsession.

Cool footage

Very small haha. He might've been 11" stretched out. He was just big enough to take a tag.

As a fisheries biologist, that footage is amazing!

Such a cryptic species.

Man I've fished these fish very hard for years and I've never seen such a large amount of juveniles as I did Sunday.

Where do you think those little guys go later in the summer? I'm also really intrigued by what that says about their spawning times.
