Looking for any information. Going scouting this weekend to potentially bow hunt this year. Thanks in advance.

Steep ravines. Think long and hard before you arrow that nanny and have to drag her out...

Hope you're in good shape. You may not go back after this weekend if you're not.

Have a plan to get a deer out. I always brought (either in the truck or on 4-wheeler) a pulley and about 100' or more rope. You can tie the pulley off and as you go downhill the deer will go uphill.

Start doing some cardio, deadlift, and maybe a little test. You drag one deer out of there and realize the severity of the quote, "The party's over once you pull the trigger."

Good luck

I used to cruise timber all around there. I'd rather spend all day walking through knee deep swamp than up and down those GD hills. Plus, if you walk down the wrong finger, you end up 1/2 mile away from where you want to be

Did a weekend camp with lsuman last yr. He saw deer and we both sweated our arse off with our climbers. The first afternoon I sat shirtless in my climber for about 2 hours

As mentioned condition yourself before you go unless you arent an out of shape dude like me.

When carrying your <20 lb. climber and bow in almost kills you from exhaustion, you start to think long and hard about dragging a 100-150 lb deer out the opposite direction, and you realize you'd rather hunt someplace else.

1. Ticks
2. Hills
3. Sweat
4. Pain/Suffering
5. More sweat
6. Maybe shoot a deer

ETA: I am in extremely good shape, and it still crushed my soul

For me trying to hunt deer in Tunica Hill was worst that hunting elk at 7,000 ft in Colorado!

hunted out that way many years ago...there was a guy the HC used...shoot a deer and he would show up with his mule...put the deer on the mules back and he would follow you up to the truck...worked out nicely...
