I had a bad experience with Captain Eddie. I would never use him again and do not recommend him to anybody

I'd like to hear more on this as well. I've been fishing with Eddie for years and have never had a bad experience or heard anyone else say they had one

Mexican gulf is the best, hands down.

Mexican Gulf

Know the guys personally, and they are top notch. Problem is that schedules fill up quickly. Calendars are on their website.

He may be....but if you get told you’re going out on their cat with two other dudes run like the wind before the boat breaks down 70 miles offshore.

Hahaha. But for real, that sounds terrible.

That’s a horrible situation. Had that happen 83 Miles out on our personal boat. That’ll definitely kill a trip. How many engines did they have on the cat you went out on? I want to say the new cat they have has 4 outboards

This was five or so years ago. Had twin 300s on a beat the frick up cat. Took 9ish hours to get home.....in February. We paid them but I’ll never get on another boat with someone who doesn’t maintain their equipment. One of the kids even admitted that motor had been “making a noise”.

Podna is probably the most consistent captain in South La.

ETA He just got a new boat too.

Is this the ragged out 31 twin vee that launches out of Bridgeside? If so I saw it sitting on the bottom in the slip last year, I saw it on the trailer 2 days later and saw it tied up in the marina again a month later, wonder if they were running a charter that day. I would be interested to see what the inside of the bilge looks like, I bet racors and all the wires are corroded as hell.

I believe that was the boat but I’m not sure about the location name. I know we were staying in Grand Isle.

We've fished with Pittman the past 2 years. One of our co-workers actually had a heart attack and passed away on his boat our first trip. I told myself I would always fish with him because of how he dealt with the whole situation. Plus he fishes his arse off.

Captain Mikes out of Dauphine Island does a 2 night trip for $660 per person. Leave on a Friday, come back on a Sunday.
