I have a 2008 Tacoma with 85,000 miles on it.
I started it up this morning and it ran for about 2 seconds and died. Did this about 15 times before i gave up. I would even give it gas right on start up and it would still die.
There was no lack of battery power.
What could possible problem be?

this. I'd be leaning to pump or filter first.

Take some carb cleaner and a toothbrush and clean everything you can reach in the carb. See where you are after that.

Your truck doesn't have a carb. Have yOunran it out of gas lately. If so bleed fuel lines

Dirty idle air control valve could also be the problem. Its easy to get off and clean so I would try this first and see if it works.

Most likely not the pump. could be fuel filter. you need to see if it has any codes.
And.i would google.the symptoms model and yr.
If you cant find anything post back and.ill check for any tech service bulletins

An old trick I learned to see if the fuel pump is bad is to get a hammer or something similar and tap on top of the fuel tank a few times.

after doing that,if you can crank the vehicle & it stays running, more than likely your fuel pump is bad.

Change the fuel & air filter, it wouldn't hurt and it should be fairly inexpensive.

Also look at all the vaccum lines & hoses. Make sure all the connections are on properly. Sometimes the vaccum lines will rot and a hole will develop causing the engine to 'suck air'.

Make sure all your spark plug wires are securely connected. Check all electrical connections as well.

Good luck
