Is there anywhere that sells decent tractor insurance? I’ve checked with a few agents and all the policies have radius of use exclusions or other limitations like it doesn’t cover it during transport or if a family member is using it. I use it in LA and MS and can’t find anything that fits. KTAC isn’t an option because it was purchased from an individual.

MY State Farm agent told me mine was covered by homeowners policy.

Well he can tell you that but when the claim happens and it's not on your property it will most definitely not be covered. I can guarantee it.

You may want to check on what limitations there are, it may not cover it away from your property.

You should check with your agent again. Typically tractors, zero turn mowers, etc are not covered under homeowners insurance in LA. You can get a personal articles policy that will cover it and it’s relatively inexpensive.

I did a 65k New Holland and 45k baler the other day with on and off premises coverage for $1100 year with zero deductible. That was in Arkansas but i can do the same type of policy in Louisiana or Texas as well.

The absolute only way it would be covered under a home policy is if the only purpose is to used to "tour the property" i explain that as if you have a golf cart to go get the mail. Same goes for a side by side. If you use it for anything else on or off property it will not be covered. I can promise you that the way state farm is processing claims now they will not give any leeway on those coverages. Insure it the right way and you'll be much happier.

It is, if the tractors sole purpose is to maintain that property. They have a policy that they can sell you to cover the tractor anywhere that is much more broad. Just went through this.

OP, if you have SF they can probably do it on an articles policy.

I'll admit when I'm wrong...or in this case the insurance agent. Spoke with agent today and they confirmed y'alls statement. Even though I'm selling the tractor I took out a policy.

And when they say maintain the property, then mean cut the grass on the area around the house. A 65hp tractor wouldn’t be used for upkeep on the home only so 99% of the time not covered.

Horse power limitation, read your policy since most SF agents are dumb as a box of rocks.
Formost should be a great option but make sure you read the policy limitations.

Get that in writing.

The minute it leaves your property or done anything other than maintaining your residence premises it is no longer covered boss.

Look at EII. Call Hunter Posey agent in Brookhaven MS.
