If you're a Louisiana resident, you have to take the LA course now. You used to be able to get certified through other states, FL course was pretty popular, but they did away with that a couple of years ago.

Even though the MS may be easier to get, the LA one is respected in more states. I would go ahead and get the LA one.

Apple, I was thinking hospitals were off limit, but circled and looked at all entrances, NO sign,, I cc'd. I hate walking back to dark parking garage after midnight..

Am I dreaming that hospitals were no carry?

Do you keep a round chambered when concealed carrying?

Also for warm months when I can't wear a jacket what's a concealment option. I hate waist band, but ill do what I need to do to have ready access.

Why should you, just call time out , or politely ask bad guy in motel parking lot to hang on for a second, so you can chamber a round?

Sorry for being a smart arse, but you get the point, hopefully,, JMO,,

Untuck your shirt or buy an ankle holster. You would be surprised how quickly you can draw from an ankle after practice.

From LSP.org:

Prohibited Locations

R.S. 40:1379.3 (N) states that no concealed handgun may be carried into and no concealed handgun permit issued pursuant to this Section shall authorize or entitle a permittee to carry a concealed handgun in any of the following:

A law enforcement office, station, or building;

A detention facility, prison, or jail;

A courthouse or courtroom, provided that a judge may carry such a weapon in his own courtroom;

A polling place;

A meeting place of the governing authority of a political subdivision;

The state capitol building;

Any portion of an airport facility where the carrying of firearms is prohibited under federal law, except that no person shall be prohibited from carrying any legal firearm into the terminal, if the firearm is encased for shipment, for the purpose of checking such firearm as lawful baggage;

Any church, synagogue, mosque or similar place of worship; See RS 40:1379.3 (U)

A parade or demonstration for which a permit is issued by a governmental entity;

Any portion of the permitted area of an establishment that has been granted a Class A-General retail permit, as defined in Part II of Chapter 1 or Part II of Chapter 2 of Title 26 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises.

Any school "firearm free zone" as defined in R.S. 14:95.6.

So in LA if it is not in this list, it is not backed by law.

And Mulder, you should absolutely carry with one in the chamber. Go back to my channel (Bigapple0828) and find my video "Carrying with an empty chamber - FAIL!" I go into more detail
