Season ends before Christmas in ark?

It opens a little early, but its only 7 weekends of rifle. I think rifle opens back up for the holidays, but none of us will be there. Most of us don't bow hunt.

I enjoy every minute I get to spend with my dad at the camp. He's only 57 so hopefully we have plenty more time.

I realize how lucky I am to get to spend this time with my pops doing what we both love.

Lesson: Carry your own damn rifle.

My dad is paralyzed on his entire left side, so you can imagine how well he gets around in the nasty arse swamp we hunt. Id never offer to carry his gun for him.

Dad is 65 and had been trying to get me to go deer hunting with him for the last couple of years. I realized that I may not have the chance to do so for too many more so I got a gun, clothes, and everything else I needed. We went last year for the first time and both killed a deer. Best time I've ever had with him and I'm looking forward to each hunting season like a damn 5 year old.

That'll be a hell of a memory to hold on to for years to come.

Good times with dad no matter where ya go.

My dad just turned 74 this year. Started passing out a couple months ago, one time at the deer camp putting corn out. Ended up with a pacemaker a few weeks back. Needless to say he's done for the year.

I just hope he's back next year. It hasn't been near as enjoyable without him there. Soak it up folks.

Great story but did anyone else get a different vibe when reading:
"Took my dad ...for final hunt.
I heard a splash behind me. Yep, pops went down, rifle first."

Did the Cardiologist not ask if he hunted and which shoulder was his shooting shoulder

He's a southpaw and the leads go through the left shoulder. That is the standard way; he was told that going through the other side complicates the procedure.
It does not bother him not to hunt anymore. (He still uses his GAMO to kill the squirrels in his backyard and shoot coons, opossum or anything that gets too close to his chicken coup.)

My uncle quit hunting too after shooting an elk out west and starting to raise red deer on his high fenced 100 acres near Pineville. Said he wasn't "mad at em" anymore. That uncle was my dads BIL and best buddy and he lost his enthusiasm for hunting/killing about the same time.
I don't care if he ever kills another deer, I just like spending time with him while I can no matter what we're doing.
