BTW, I've never caught it right in the spawn. Super disappointed about that. Come Memorial Day though-it's on.

I did about two years ago. That was when we caught them out of our back yard.

We have only done it once a few years ago

we were bass fishing and catching nothing, so we just tied on some beetle spins to see

loaded the boat that day

one of the most fun days fishing I've had

I just came in from morning fish. We all did well. 6 of us fishing in three boats and we ended up with about 30 Bass and a pile of white perch(20ish). Bass came mostly on soft plastics in 8 t0 10 foot in and around all the grasses. Senko, wacky worm, all weightless. White perch on black and chartruesse road runners and spinners. Grabbing a bite to eat and headed to run trot lines. Op's are running really well in these muddy and stained creeks on live perch and live shad. WIND IS BLOWING...but plenty places to get out of it and fish

My brother and I beat them up pretty good right here on red traps while pre-fishing a bass tournament.

I would love to go back down there but that is a long way away from San Miguel for only a couple hours of fishing.

How did everyone do this weekend on the bend?
Me and my son caught 31 sac-a-perch Friday evening.
We just hung around the camp and drank beer, ate bbq and threw horseshoes because of the wind on Saturday.
Ft Polk Bass Club has a good turn out for their annual Spring Open tournament. Big fish was 10.2 lbs and 28 lbs total weight won it all.

We caught a few bass and only 3 sac a crappie. Pretty bad trip overall. I may go back this coming weekend. Any suggestions on catching some sac a crappie would be appreciated.

Fished toledo for the secod time this weekend, the first time was March 1st. We fished mainly around negreet. Had 7 keepers on Thursday, 10 keepers Friday, and one Saturday before 10 AM.

We flipped trees and brush, fished the grass mats, fished 3-8ft grass beds, and a shoreline with a good drop off. Caught on a jig/craw, spinnerbait, and senkos. We worked very hard for what we had. Wind kicked our butt and the crowds were all concentrated to the protected areas.

Only 3 or 4 of our fish had eggs. I'm thinking a majority of the fish in that area have already spawned, but it's hard to say for sure. There's a chance that the buck bass are up preparing the beds.... Who knows.

Trolling outside the edge of grass lines with jigs we got on 'em pretty good. Most caught on black and white.
Around 5-15 feet of water.
For sac-a-crappie that is!
