I am no longer one of you; I traded in my '06 and got a '15 Sierra Crew Cab. They gave me the Godfather deal; one I couldn't refuse. It was one of those Blackout Specials....seriously loaded with everything but a sunroof. It will take me weeks or months to learn everything.

I had decided a few weeks ago to go back to a full size and I've had a Sierra before so the decision was fairly simple for me.

Good luck Taco drivers!!

How you liking the switch? Did you realize how much comfort you were sacrificing?

From mid-size to full? Love it

Most of my driving in the Taco was local; probably less than 2 hours so it wasn't a huge deal.

When I went from full size to mid-size? I don't think I fully realized it until I took my first trip and then reality hammered me in the arse.

I'll be switching in a few years, to a full size, probably GMC Sierra.

I love my 2nd Gen Tacoma, last of the good breed. Not a big fan of the later model year 2nd Gens, but I have a 2005 the first year of them.

I'll run this truck into the ground and then switch to a full size and get the same gas mileage with more arse. The new engine in the Tacoma turned me off big time and I won't be getting a 3rd Gen after this one dies, if ever.

No, Im talking about driving the Tacoma for years and now having a presumably much larger and more comfortable truck now? Ive been eyeing the Taco for years but just cant justify pulling the trigger because I feel Id sacrifice quite a bit in comfort for the same amount of money or more.

Don't need luck. Good decisions take care of themselves.

I'll be switching from a pre runner to a z71 all terrain soon. As the kids get older their toys get bigger and just want more space.

Gotcha....TBH (and IMO) all mid-size trucks should be obsolete very, very soon unless you want a mid-size 4 banger. Like you mentioned the costs between the 2 is almost a push but the comfort level in the full-size is 100% better PLUS I'm getting better mileage with my 5.3 Sierra (the new engine technology is off the charts) than I did with my 4.0 Taco.

Stick with your gut instincts and keep your full-size.

Not going to happen. If you need a DD that performs offroad you can't beat a mid size. If I tried to drive a full size truck where I take my Tacoma it would be beat to hell within a year.

I love my new Tundra, but still miss my '04 Tacoma.
Just keep an eye on the amount of gas in your tank. I've got a buddy that got new gmc's for him and his wife and they told me that there is no gas gauge and the low fuel warning system is a little sporadic. She's been stranded with an empty tank. Why they wouldn't just put a regular gas gauge I don't know.

Did they give you more for the taco than you paid for it?

That's what most taco owners tell me

I know this wasn't directed to me, but I bought my 04 used from a dealer for about 15K kept it 5 years and traded it in to a dealer for about 11K. If I had done private sale both times it would have been next to 0 depreciation in those 5 years. More than once a random person approached me out of the blue in a parking lot offering to buy my truck.

AS to the new Chevy's, co-worker bought one a few months ago and put a mall crawler level on it, some black Fuel wheels and ProComp mud tires, at the shop right now b/c it won't fuggin run. But is sho look good.

I'm trying to decide between a newer f150 or a Gen1 Tacoma right now. They're really tempting.
