Yep, and this is huge. I've had problems with my Kimber, a Springfield RO, and a Colt XSE. Springfield and Colt took care of it, but Kimber was difficult from start to finish, and the next problem I have will be on my dime.
Pass on that when you can get better guns for less money.

Sti has quite a few 1911's that are cheaper, and much better quality than any kimber. Made in Texas too.
Look at the Trojan.

Come on man. Some of these are not like the others. And you forgot Les Baer.
I don't disagree, but a top end Kimber goes for ~$2900. I could have bought a Nighthawk for $2500.
There is a Wilson Combat for close to that as well.
Just throwing them out there for him to consider since he didn't put a price range

Price range is under 1100 otd.
I'm on the fence whether to get that kimber or just get something else.
Idk.

For $1100, I'd look elsewhere. A used TRP, something from Colt, or a Dan Wesson would all be better options than that Kimber. They have a sticky in the Kimber section of 1911forum dedicated to problems with their guns.

If you are on the fence about the Kimber then I would go with a Springfield.
Loaded USMC for $1,085.00
This is a good looking pistol.

I love my Ruger SR1911 too... Ruger put a lot of thought in creating this pistol.. It's got everything you need as far as features and none of what you don't really need. Nice price too. Accurate right out of the box.

Lots of people in here commenting based on hearsay or old Kimber myths.
Thanks on a more objective assessment. Sorry to hear their CS is so bad.

I have one and I like it. Probably not fashionable to say but I like my Ruger a little better.
