sounds like that scene in Tommy Boy

It was surreal, this was probably 1998-1999 and I remember it like it was yesterday.

That is freakin' awesome! A guy I work with was at home one day and his wife came running inside screaming "SNAKE" the snake was on the leaf spring of her trail blazer and my coworker shot at the snake 5 or 6 time while it was still under the car

Was sitting on the stand opening morning this year and had an old fella that hunts with us pull up to the stand and ask if me any my dad could come help him load up a deer he had shot. Since it was 8:30 and I was still seeing deer I told him to wait about 30 mins then we would head over to help him out. So when we finally get there the deer is laying in the road not 50 yards from the his stand but it is still breathing and trying to stand up. He told us that it had been doing that for over an hour. We waited a couple of minutes to see if it would finally give in but it kept breathing and kicking so I put pressure on the back legs to keep it from kicking while my dad grabs it by the horns and slits its throat. Was one of the craziest experiences I have ever seen

I couldn't watch an animal suffer for an hour like that. Craziest way I've ever seen to kill an animal was the guy that taught me how to trap would crush the rib cage of opposums and racoons to save the bullet and protect the hide. He'd just squish the lungs and heart until they died.

That is insane

This fellow was in his late 70's and I guess he didn't wanna waste any ammo

He certainly wouldn't have been able to cut the throat on his own though. as soon as we touched it it started freaking out

This is awful now but when I was around 12 or 13 we'd catch possums in live traps. We'd get them out and tie a brick to their back foot and throw them in a pond. Needless to say there were a pile of turtles in the pond.

Tie a rope to the trap and a brick then throw it all in the pond. Then retrieve it after the bubbles stop.

We tried that then we realized we could be catching other critters in the meantime

my grandfather couldn't see to drive in his later years but still battled the squirrels for the tomatoes he grew. his solution to disposal of squirrels caught in the "have a heart" traps was to dump the trap with captured squirrel in a tub of water till it drowned. he said it was cleaner than any other method.

Bout 15 years ago I was hunting with my dad in the evening, he drops a spike at 100yds, it didnt take a step. With 15 minutes left of legal shooting light we walk up on the deer, when we get 10 yards away its legs start thrashing, it gets up and runs away. My dad and I just look at each other speechless, not a drop of blood was found.

Crazy!

How long do you think a opposum can hold their breath? It took 5 minutes tops.
