Was planning on trying Lena Lagoon and the rock dam in the MRGO. I've always done better on the other side of the MRGO though. I haven't been in a while. Are you able to walk over to the other side of the rocks and fish there? It's too long to paddle.

Either that or I'm going to Leeville/Golden Meadow. Still not sure but leaning Hopedale. If anyone has any advice or recent reports from either in a yak I'd appreciate it.

Bump. Anybody ever anchor/tie off to rocks and walk to other side of the MRGO dam out of Breton Sound Marina in Hopedale?

Yes if the wind is right you are ok otherwise you got to worry about your boat beating against the rock. We were in a bay boat. It is not far from the launch.

Walking on those rocks is a little tricky. I think one of those cooler bags would be good to put your fish in. We caught a bunch of trout and the cooler was heavy to carry across those rocks. Take a long net if you can so you don't have to lift the fish so far. We had a great time.

Everything he said plus...

Last time I went, I saw a couple guys pull their yaks up and over the dam and then fish the other side all day.

We may know each other. I debated all three with friends for this weekend. Going GM because I know how to stay out of the wind there just in case it gets frisky.
