I was thinking about going down to Golden Meadow in the kayak for its maiden voyage. Seems like it will be a nice day to go.

Any recommendations on where to launch a kayak (public launch the best place?)? places to go from the launch?

launch at the public launch, theres a hole there to launch as to not take up the boat slips, but I doubt theres going to be any boats launching. take a right when you get out and its going to be a few canals for reds and that'll take you to a few ponds and the lake.

I doubt you want to paddle across the lake, but ive been catching trout in the lake the past few weeks.

ill be there this weekend until probably tuesday, you can still catch fish, most of them are moved in, but still reachable if you dont mind a 15-20 minute ride north

I'll be there all weekend until Monday night. You'll have to take a boat ride inland to find fish. I have a camp on the island but if I was paying to stay somewhere I wouldnt be in Grand Isle
