DrBeardface just put a 4" on his new King Ranch F150. It's in the King Ranch thread if you want to look it up. It is pretty sharp. If you want to save yourself the trouble of searching, he will either post pics in here shortly or bump that other thread for some reason.

You do realize that once it is lifted, it all goes downhill from there, right? Being stuck for days, broken parts, expensive tires, etc are all examples of what fun comes with a lifted truck

Why would anyone do this?

You get what you pay for with lifts, especially for IFS trucks.
I can't recommend Superlift enough. I have 160k hard miles on my lift (94 Z71) and the lift components are still in very good shape. They do a great job of keeping the factory steering geometry and CV angles on the front end, and usually come with a complete spring pack for the back end. The diff drops are great as well.
They're also usually $5-600 more than rough country or rancho for good reason.
Just bear in mind that you will absolutely be dealing with increased maintenance costs and a shittier ride. Buy a good kit and have it professionally installed. Don't attempt to tackle an IFS lift yourself unless you are very mechanically inclined with a large arsenal of tools and preferably a lift.
One other thing is to make absolutely 100% sure the kit you get has a diff drop. Some 3 or 4 inch kits do not come with a differential drop and you will be eating CV joints faster than you can change them.

Somebody say Showmewhatyougot?
Oh wait, lift kits. My bad.
4" is plenty on an F-150. ESPECIALLY for a HS kid.

Little six cylinder with 8 inch Rize industries lift and 37 inch tires. Rize makes a great product but they are not cheap.

Not to rag on lift kits, but how many highly lifted 4x4 trucks have the front driveshaft removed? I am guessing 75% at least.

Lifts are badass, but there's no way I'm doing anything more than a level in the future.
