Fishing Line

I'm stepping up on fishing line. It's about time I respool, guy at the tackle shop suggested sunline, I got some of that for worms and some sufix for spinnerbaits. I'll see how this stacks up.

Dang, I've been collecting knives and I hate cheap ones. Didn't know so many people went cheap on their knives.

Yeah I couldn't use cheap knives knowing there are Spydercos in the world. Have had one on my hip for the past 20 years or so. Would feel naked with some shitty knife in that spot.

I'm pretty surprised by this too. What are y'all considering cheap? Gerber, kershaw? Or some circle K shite?

I don't even own a cheap one.

Ammo in anything other than the deer rifle, as long as it goes bang I'm good.

I buy Cheap sunglasses to beat around in but if I am fishing or traveling I wear my good ones.

Spinnerbaits the cheap ones are built cheap so they have an erratic action.

More times than not I buy quality over cheap most of the time.

I don't get the idea of buying cheap fishing line. Is this opposed to braid like Power Pro? I bet if you fish much you won't go 2-3 years without changing that mono out. Braid comes out far cheaper for me.

How long does a spool of PP last you?

On the reels that I use primarily, I probably replace once a year...MAYBE. But I brought a bunch of reels with me to GI, and I promise you some of them had 3-5 yr old PP on them...and were fine. If anything, I cut off the first 10-15 feet and went with it.

I've even heard of people unspooling it, and then respooling it backwards. IOW, what used to be buried on the spool is now what they tie the hook to, and vice versa. If you think about it, you can put so much more PP on a reel than mono. If you get into the spool a little bit to the 'unused' portion, it's still dark green and glossy...perfectly fine. It doesn't just 'go bad'.

I'm considering $30-40 cheap, I'm not paying over $100 for a daily carry pocket knife.

By that standard all my knives are cheap. I have mostly Buck, Gerber, and Schrade along with some bait shop specials.
