OK builders, supplies has been ordered for all. My local lumber company was able to get the 1/4" plywood this time. They are getting it at cost for me, but still high. They will get it in in less then a week and keep it for us till the build time along with all other wood that is needed.

Now tools that y'all can bring if you have them.

Tape measure
Hammer or two to help back up nailing.
Wood clamps
Battery power drill if you have it.
A pair of saw horses
Hand wood plane if you have one. (I have a power hand planer the last class bought for me.

) Life /time saver for sure.

I'm looking forward to see everybody. The wife will cook something easy for lunch both days. For those that are coming in Friday, post up and those that are coming in Saturday, post up. That way I know the who's, what's. when's and where's.

If anyone has any questions before hand, call me or email me.

We are going for 9 and even maybe 10 builds.

Don't forget:

ear plugs or muffs,

clear eye protection,

pencils or magic markers,

counter sink bits if you have them,

regular wood drill bits if you have them,

TWO battery powered drills per builder with extra batteries and chargers

bug spray

latex or nitrile gloves (and clothes you can ruin since the glue will not come out)

lots of small disposable plastic cups

a simple nail pouch and small 12-16 oz hammer for each builder (don't bring a big waffle faced framing hammer)

for the back up hammer a 3lb sledge works GREAT!

And if at least one builder has a compound miter saw and table/rollers it will help.

For those wanting to make Damn sure your tools go home with you, I suggest spray painting them, etching them, or adding tape to them so you can identify them. Also having a large plastic bin to keep your stuff in while allowing easy access during the build helps.

And don't forget to bring tie down straps and red flagging for those wanting to transport the boats home. I forgot and had to borrow some. Thanks wick!

Good deal. Got everything ordered and should have glue and nails in by the end of the week. The place I normally order the glue from is out till Oct 14. Talked to them, but they are still not sure if they were going to get it in. When thru Amazon to buy it. $274 for two gallons shipped. Got the nails from a gutter supplies company at $9 a pound. Plywood was about $33.75 a sheet. $3 more then normal, but I don't have to drive to get it which is a 150 mile round trip. Local lumber yard and they going to hold all lumber in there warehouse till we need it. Oh, they selling it to me at cost. They will bring it to me when I tell them. Depending on the weather, I plan on cutting most of it before hand a couple days in advance to help save time. This weekend, I plan on cutting all bowstems, but I will go over that at the build.

Got to investigating. You sent me a check for $200 without any instructions. So I put all that down for you for the build. I guess you wanted $50 in raffle tickets? If so, let me know ASAP so I can put you in. Sorry about this mix up.

Fish, my old man retired from the plant about a year ago. Went back to do some consulting work, and now works more than he did on shift work. Kinda consuming him. We lost his sister this past week to a quick 4-5 month battle with pancreatic cancer. He needs a break, so I can't tell you how much my brother and I are looking forward to doing this build with him. Thanks again for offering this

Sorry to hear that. Loosing a love one really is heart breaking. I'm at the age that all the people around me are dropping dead more and more every day.

Your Dad must be close or a little bit older then me. When we get to that age, work becomes something we enjoy. Sick, isn't it?

On a side note. Got some of the glue in last night. UPS only dropped off one box of two. Guess they will drop off the second one today.
