I accidentally clicked on Political Talk and my head is about to explode. Now we just need a Gun, Hunting, or Fishing emoticon.

I can't go over to the political board. Besides, now that we are all required by the Supreme Court to gay marry, I've got to find a same-sex life partner. My wife is already on it but I'm at work until 3.

Yea, it was rough. I got back in on one of those amnesty posts from chicken. This was back in 08 IIRC.

I've been over there all day.

I'm a southern white cracker that needs to leave the country my forefathers helped to build because I support guns and my heritage.

Yea. No one is requiring you to marry a man.

I know, dude. I wish I had thought of it, but my original comment was inspired by an article in The Onion about ten years ago under the headline "Massachusetts Supreme Court Orders All Citizens To Gay Marry." Hysterical.

As for the ruling today, it doesn't oppress me. My favorite line from the entire opinion was this gem from Scalia's dissent:

“Really? Who ever thought that intimacy and spirituality [whatever that means] were freedoms? And if intimacy is, one would think Freedom of Intimacy is abridged rather than expanded by marriage. Ask the nearest hippie.”

Please don't ever repeat that.

The only dissent that addressed the real issue was Roberts'. Scalia did just what the liberals on the bench did - babbled about intimacy, freedoms, and emotion.

Meanwhile, Roberts is over there like, "Hey guys, yall remember that document that we're supposed to adhere to? No? Oh, ok."

Roberts doesn't understand what "established by the states" means. No way he's ever read the entire constitution.
