Many years ago, I used to use a guy by the name of Joe Coombs(sp?)

My dad talks about Joe's work and says he's still in the business. Not sure where he's working out of though.

A guy on denham springs in plantation estates. I've seen a lot of great work from him. It was a blue wing teal and one of my dogs first duck. Would have liked it to come out a little better. Whodat514 actually killed it. I got a woody I think I'm probably gone bring to guy Adams in ds. It's a fine woody and I'll be pissed if not happy with it.

The same guy did my grey duck and I was pleased...dss teal looked okay the pose coulda been better

As far as the guy who does them for 160$ the quality is great he may have gone up now but he doesn't do it to make a crap ton of money deepsouthsportsman can vouch for the quality of my two redheads

Done alot of looking for a good taxidermist best I've seen is thevguy in Pearl River. Think his name is Hynes, won a national championship with a wood duck. The mount is really beautiful. Now I have to go shoot a drake. Was told the best plumage is middle to late January. Think birdman said don't wrap the duck in paper. Put it's head under the wing or lay it on it's back, then put it in a plastic bag. I don't know shite about duck hunting, but want a mount for my cabin.

I've also heard to just put them in a ziplock and get as much air as possible out

This is what I did. Tucked the head and triple wrapped in plastic. Plan on getting it in soon though.
I looked through some of the Pearl River guy's work, it wasn't the best I've seen, but for around $200 and a 90 day turnaround he may be the winner.

Last year I got a drake grey mounted by jay huye in picayune. 200 per bird with a three month turn around. Did an awesome job. Very nice fellow and passionate about waterfowl taxidermy.

Yeah, Billy is high...but only because he's that good. I just sent a mallard drake to a guy in Eunice. Quoted me $150. Don't remember his name though.
