squirrel hunting is the best way to teach a youngster about the woods. its much more interesting to them than sitting for hours in a deer stand. keep the deer hunts to a move-up step for him. i did this and now i've got a 13 yr old that a deadly serious hunter and i get to use this as a carrot-on-the-stick for keeping the grades and behaviour where they should be. ENJOY this time because it ends before you know it

He's gonna need to take a hunters course one day, but evverything that's been said. At that age, my dad wouldn't let me load the gun until I was ready to shoot. Dog hunting, and I was using a single barrel 410 with a hammer pull
