i have the hero 3 black. I know how to use the wifi for viewing live footage but there is a lag there so capturing live action under water is going to be impossible.

Yeah you are right, there is a 3-5 second delay, but I simply use it to be sure the camera is set-up correctly and to see the distance I can catch an image based on the water clarity. Thought that may help you in this case.

How far out are they having to find trout? I ran out to the 3 Mile area a few weeks ago and the water wasn't even that salty.

We weren't in Lake P. All fish caught were in Lake B.
