My bad. You can sometimes find police trade in 870s for right under $200.

Someone kicks my door in at 12am. What do I shoot him/her with?

If you discover the intruder is a female then you definitely do not want to shoot her. Put your gun down. Instead wrestler her down to the ground. Take advantage of this opportunity to feel her up while you restrain her.

12 Gauge shotgun is a excellent choice for home defense.

Mossberg Maverick 88 pump. Can catch at Academy or others for around $180 on sale

This should have been the end of the thread. Buying this gun for under $200 is like stealing.

Great home defense gun for any budget.

For your budget, the only answer.

Mossberg 88 is hard to beat for the price.

For primarily home defense I might look for the shorter barreled Hatsan Escort that Academy sells. 18.5" barrel v. 28"

They make one with an 18 inch barrel and the 28 inch barrel I have both, plus all barrels are interchangeable with the moss berg 500.

How many walls would the shotgun go through? If you just started blasting with the shotgun would you have to worry about kids being in a room behind or near the perp?
