A:

You can also go to:
LINK /

hit the link to report a banded bird , enter the number and you get the info instantly. Must admit I do miss the bad old days when you would call it in and wait 6 weeks for the letter, it was like Christmas when you got the letter and found out where it was from etc.

Great stuff to shoot a banded bird on 1st time out in a while, hope you bought a lottery ticket that day too ;)

Thanks for the info brother. I appreciate it. I tried a few different websites including this one but must have overlooked the link.

Unfortunately I didn't buy the lottery ticket yesterday

Damn. The little critter covered 1907 miles in 2.5 months! Pretty good considering how bad traffic can be in Kansas City.

Its just a cool lagniappe deal.

Kind of like killing a deer with drop tines or something that is a nice extra acheivement for the big time deer hunters.

Just a really neat little prize. Get an idea of where the duck was when it was banded.

Like I said in the other post. I've hunted 20 years and have never gotten one.

It's just really rare. A lot of people I'm close with have hunted their entire lives. One guy has 3 bands the rest have 1 or none. Me picking up that band was about the luckiest thing that's ever happened to me. I may have been the only person who hunted the wax this weekend that killed a banded bird. The game warden that was asking for Teal numbers said that was the only band he had seen so far. He had recorded over a 1000 birds.
