I am finishing up a new shop build (12'6" x 24') and I am hoping to use some of the space to store my hunting and fishing gear. Waders, decoys, rods, tackle boxes, etc. Basically everything but firearms.

Does anyone have any pictures of their set-up? I am trying to look for some ideas.

the stairs to upstairs go up right behind my garage so it made room for a nice size closet (5ftx5ft) then it slants to follow the stairs for another 8ft. plenty of room.

I don't have a pic available

I put a few Sam's 5 tier shelves and screwed them to the walls to keep them from falling. I have one for hunting gear and one for fishing/boating gear. They're pretty solid and can hold 800 lbs per shelf.

I’ll take a better pic when I get home but I use 2x4s and coffee cup looks to make rod racks, then use a hole bit to make a spot for the butt end of the rod. Keeps them nice and neat against the wall

I like that idea. What kind of coffee cup hooks did you use?

Thanks. It’s a really cheap way to organize them with scrap wood. And they look good now bc we recently finished building and I just put them up. May not look like that in a few yrs lol

It’s funny to look at yours with the floor paint and neatness.

Then look at that shitshow in my pic.

The epoxy floor was a shitshow initially lol. Had to put 2 coats on it bc the first was absorbed so rapidly.

Dstone I thought you took a pic of my garage! Wife’s car on one side of the two-car garage, all of my junk on shelves and on the floor on the other side! I built shelving around the ceiling, have shelves on 3 walls, and have a small golf cart garage full of crap. Unreal how much sfuff I have between tools, lawn equipment, hunting, and fishing.

The pulleys are a huge space saver.

I built several closets and shelves out of old lumber I had laying around. Made the doors fit really good and put some cedar in all of them so they close up tight tight and don't get full of spiders and stuff. Works great.

If needed, you can build a climate controlled inner room. Stud it up normally, and get an AC friend to get you some sheets of R4 duct board. Industry uses R6 so R4 is cheaper. Acme Refrig of Baton Rouge has it. Then put a cheap window unit in it. Sheets come 4 x 10, so you can plan your studding to accomadate 10 ft, sheets sideways.
It's all about humidity.
