Guy over there brought up a good point. I believe it's illegal to capture and raise wild animals in Louisiana. No need to have that broadcasted on a public message board.

I'm sure there's a whole 50 pages in the law book dictating the difference. Admitting on the internet you caught it in a pond probably doesn't get you much slack though.
I think it's bullshite as much as everyone else, but that's the most reasonable explantion I've seen for the thread getting pulled.

Really? Didnt Junior from Swamp People have a pet raccoon in his house that they showed on the TV show? I would've thought it would only be against the law to keep a wild animal as a pet if it was a protected species or exotic species.
Think the thread being whacked was bc of the GoFundMe link, but in OP's defense...there was quite a few posters telling him to setup a GoFundMe so they could contribute to the little sister getting an actual cage or habitat for the nutria instead of keeping it in her dresser. Wasnt like OP was asking for money

My friend had one in high school. He kept in in his shirt pocket and went out in public with it. It died in a couple weeks unfortunately. I was thinking about this the other day, it was awesome.
