Any input? Pros/cons? Looking at one for my 14 year old daughter. Originally wanted to get her a 20 gauge but those are hard to find. Thinking the 12 gauge will be ok with 2 3/4 shells.

12 ga recoil is pretty stout for a 14 year old girl especially if you are just starting out. 12 ga guns are much heavier than 20’s as well

My 16 year old son has had an o/u 12 gauge for 4 years and loves it but he’s a whopper. I’d find a way to have her shoot one before buying it, if possible.

Find a 20ga she won’t enjoy a 12ga.

I have the P3500 and I’ve had zero issues. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy another Stoeger.

I have a M3500 that I’ve had since shortly after they came out. It has been reliable. It is a backup gun.

Do not buy your 14 year old daughter a 12 ga. unless you want her to quit hunting. Buy her a 20 ga. that will last her a lifetime. If you’re set on a Stoeger, get her the M3020 compact and buy a full size stock later: LINK

Look on Gunbroker. There are a lot of M3020 compacts on there: LINK

I don’t have any experience with stoeger, but the most important thing will be finding her a gun that fits her. More than likely, that’s going to be a 20 gauge. The m3020 compact looks to have plenty availability.

If it were me, I’d look for a gas driven gun over an inertia driven gun. Weatherby SA-08 compact is a good budget option for that. Winchester SX4 compact would be even nicer though.

I've had a couple of Stoegers. No real cons. The fit and finish was a little rough. In that price range I would probably go with Mossberg.

Would highly recommend!

The only common problem I know of is the ejector gets worn out and it is easy to replace. It took a few years for it to wear out.

I have a little Stoeger 20 ga. side by side that I got for my wife to shoot. Had it for years and years. Not the most fashionable shotgun but it goes POW every time, it serves.

I think Stoeger is made by Benelli.

They’re good guns for hunting, reliable but basic so you don’t feel bad if you scratch them up or anything

My 14yo son has the 3500 and loves it, but he is 6' 230#s. For the girl get the 20 gauge and decent shells. I know several guys destroying ducks with a 20.

Get the Franchi. Stoeger has upped their game but you can get a Franchi affinity 3.5 and shoot 2 3/4 fine if you want inertia or a Beretta A300 extrema or whatever new for 799.00 (at least they were a few months back), if you want a gas shotgun.
