Can someone here tell me about what these run? I'm interested in a 15 to 20 foot one and not insulated.

I looked at them hard for my camp a few years ago.

I can tell you back then a 20 ft. one was like $1800 and a 40ft. was only about $2000. There was not much difference, so much like a gun safe... go big.

It's the delivery that gets pricey...

You're probably right. Like any storage, they're never big enough after you start putting shyt in them.

I searched and places that sell them don't give pricing without email. I don't want them to start hounding me.

Just make a burner Gmail account real quick.

I saw a few advertised when I passed through Houston and they were running around 2k average.

I would like to get one and half it for gear storage and small living quarters on the other side.

The other day I saw a place out of lafayette and called but they put me on hold. After 3 minutes I hung up.

I still get emails from Walter Boasso, the guy who started his business with a hose and a box of tide cleaning storage containers(that's his claim to fame) trying to sell me a container.

I found a local guy in the nearest city to my camp, and he was higher priced but cheaper delivery since we were only talking 20 miles round trip.

In the end, I ended up building a wood/sheet metal storage shed for about $1000. I'm happy with it...

I can almost guarantee that you are not going to get a decent 20 or 40 for 2k today. You can get new, which is actually used once. Water tight, which means decent or one rusted out. Water tight is the way to go which is probally 3500 to 4k.

Yeah, the few I was able to physically look at were rough.

New = Used One Time
Water Tight = No Holes (almost)
Non-water tight = Smashed to hell and back/no longer useful for shipping.

$2000 will get you a smashed up one.

If you go insulated you can go inside in the summer and it's like in the mid. 80's in there.

SiL, why would people sell them if they were only used once?

Not doubting your knowledge, just seems like they cost more than 4K to manufacture.

It is cost prohibitive to ship the containers back to Asian ports empty, since the U.S. imports 100s of thousands of items more than it exports, the "used one time" containers just accumulate in the U.S.
