Some disappointments in my new Tundra

Posting this for tundra owners considering a new tundra.
I have been a long time tundra owner. Just traded an 08 crew max with 206,000 miles on it this week for a 17 crew max.
It's a nice truck BUT the 08 was better in several ways--the most apparent being the rear seats. You cannot access the area behind the back rest in rear seats in the new Tundras but you can lift the bottom of the seat. The trouble is there is no space under the back seat anymore.
I have a box full of crap like tie downs and rain jackets that I used to keep under the seat and now I have no place to store them.
Also the center console storage is now just a big empty space with no organization dividers or sliding trays so stuff just piles up in there like a kid's toy box. I always used the little tray in the old one for things like pocket knives, spare house keys, small screw drivers ect and then I put bigger stuff under the tray.
Annoying little things that I did not notice till I bought it and now it drives me crazy since I don't have the things I used to carry.

Ive gotta 13, and I can bout store a whole warehouse of shite "behind" my seat.
Tool box, lotsa rope and a 50 ton hydraulic jack.
The rears fold down over the top of the seats. Its got mega room for storage.

see my swing box post sounds like you may need to install driver and passenger side. Im pretty sure you can get a storage divider for your center console online somewhere. Ive seen them for my f150

Yep my 08 was like that too.
Now the rear seats do not fold down and the space under the seats is gone too.

The seat is a legitimate complaint. Not having storage back there is absurd. That being said, I keep a tow strap, 2 giant ratchet straps and a set of jumpers under there.
The glove box is pretty small in the scope of things. If you middle it that much, I believe there are aftermarket options.

Not only that with the old style you could adjust the angle of the seat back a little for riding comfort too.

You can get a storage unit for your truck for less than $200. It takes a mod(cutting out sound barrier insulation) but it's super easy to do and will solve your issue. I have a 2016 and had the same issue

Amazon sells a Tundra console organizer for $22.

I ran into the same issues as you. I have done a ton of mods to my truck. My biggest mod was the headlamps. The Toyota headlamps absolutely suck arse. I had some Lexus 750 HID's with projectors installed in my Headlamp housing and now I have plenty of light!

Still thinking about the under seat storage.

I did put weathertec floor mats in today and like the looks of them. I wonder why truck manufacturers don't make vinyl floor covers any more??
