Wife found his guy in my car port today. We were staining my deck, so my guess is that he was on the move b/c of that.

Looks like a mocassin to me. What yall think?

Mr. Dot says it looks like a crappy picture of a water moccasin.

Def moccasin. After you kill it, the only appropriate next step would be setting the deck on fire.

Yup, even in that crappy pic it's obviously a Cottonmouth - which makes it all the more frustrating that people constantly misidentify harmless watersnakes as Cottonmouths.

I wish there was a carcass. My wife saw him but wasnt able to kill it.

How would the OB proceed ? I just looked under deck with Qbeam and don't see it. It has access to get under my house from there. I have two young children and a dog.
Obviously if I see it, it will die. Is there anything else to do? Bait? trap? Poison? Or just burn my house down and start over? I've got a call into a pest control company but haven't heard back yet.

What do yall think?

Probably came about with all this high water. I wouldn't worry. Just keep your wits about you and the shovel handy.

I'd say yes, it's definitely a moccasin or a black widow

Damn. If you were closer to Slidell I'd come find him and relocate him for you.
