I agree about the external safety. I want no CC gun with one at all. I personally like the grip safety on the XDs. I have a hair over 1,000 round and zero problems.

Well, my place would be of no help then, lol. I went last weekend to see what they had. They guy told me they were getting some XDS's in. T\He called me on Wed and I went in yesterday and bought one. They still had some, but this is on the Westbank outside New Orleans. It was $599.00 plus tax, but he gave me a military discount . I paid $621.00 total. And from some advice on here, I will sell my XD 9mm Sub Compact to offset the cost.

That's why I'm kinda leanin toward a wheel gun for cc. Workin on gettin my shite together for that here shortly.

I'd love to get a colt new agent or something similar, but I'm kinda wary about the external safety. Even though, I feel like I'm proficient with it. (1911 safeties)

My issue with the grip safeties is that if I have to shoot it while somebody is beating the shite out of me I'll probably frick it up and make it not go bang.

Don't particularly want an external safety.

A good point. I have chosen to take that risk.

I doubt it's that big of an issue because the ones I have fooled with have never given me a problem. I forget it's even there and I just grab the gun and shoot it.

I've never had to shoot somebody off of me though. I HIGHLY doubt I'd have a problem with it, but I pay lots of attention to murphy's law

Murphy was definitely on to something. Another added benefit for me is capacity. I'd like a few more chances to poke a hole. You aren't really going to do anything with a .45 that a 9 can't do especially when we are talking about 3 inch barrels

I would go with the M&P. Just get one without a safety if you don't want a safety

Edit: I didn't see "shield" at first. Get the shield if you can find one

Fwiw when the shield first came out I think I remember seeing a video that was talking about the design of the shield was s that you could carry with it on or off of safety

Simple solution. Buy both. Figure out which one you like better and use that gun as your cc gun. Keep the other one in your vehicle, house or stash it somewhere else. When all is said and done it's going to be personal preference and thats something only you can figure out. I have cc'd an XD sub compact 40, Sig 2022, and Glock 19 but currently use Glock 27. Never been a big .45 cc guy. Good luck.

Still going to be a singe stack though. Not fair to compare a single vs a double stack. Unless you keep in mind that it is considerably heavier.

Btw, I am a single stack fan. I would rather it be more comfortable than extra rounds. You wont carry a heavy or uncomfortable gun for very long. Then it wont matter how many rounds it has when its on your nightstand.
