I take my 4 soon to be 5yo at least twice a year.

we sleep on the ground if we can, but if it gets cool or rainy we sleep in a tent.

Sleeping on the groud is getting harder and harder.

Does anybody go tent camping with a dog? We tried it with Tank and he barked all damn night at squatches.

Humm started roughing it while hiking the Appalachian Trail with a backpack and bag to a peice of clear plastic tent to wall tents and cots now in a 27 foot camper with electricity and heat in winter. I am old, my comfort levels have dramatically increased with age.

My buddy is at Indian Creek right now doing that.
He invited me but I have to Crawfish tomorrow and have no urge to sleep in a fricking tent!

I use a tent and a queen sized air mattress that's huge. Its wonderful.

Don't have the spine for the ground anymore. I'm going full swamp prince up in this bitch from now on.

I did some work up around Hot Springs, AR about 8 years ago when Alltel was building out. The chiggers and ticks were horrible. No way I would be camping with those little bastards crawling around.
