OB opinion, what say ye?

I did dry last time, but I'm open to trying something new. I have a bag of trout, two boxes of lemon pepper fish-fri, and the want.

Mix: 1cup of Milk, 1/4cup Mustsard, 1 Egg(not necessary, but delicious)

Dip the trout in the mixture, then in the fish-fri

...Enjoy

Mustard will ruin trout. For trout I drag the fish in a buttermilk and egg wash then to the fish fry.

I like KC Masterpiece Lemon Pepper marinade

And more importantly sprinkle the Fish Fry over the fillets, never mix in the shake container. Trust me

i enjoy other types of fish with mustard just not trout, i think trout is just to good to but mustard on. Like putting A-1 steak sauce on an $50 steak. Gator is really good with mustard

I like it both ways. If I am going to use mustard I don't use much. I usually mix a little mustard with hot sauce which I rub onto the fish and then dip in Louisiana or Zatarains fish fry with lemon.

It will make the fish fry to cakey if you put to much mustard.

Never tried mustard, but I use buttermilk, an egg, and some hot sauce. Gives it a good flavor.

Mustard egg hot sauce wash. Everything else is bs. Btw, you don't taste mustard after it's fried.

Add some mustard with all those same ingredients, roll in a 50/50 mixture of seasoned fish fry and cornmeal. I alternate between doing them this way, and just straight up ice water to Chef KD's Fish Fry. Totally different, nice change of pace, both excellent.

you have hit the nail on the head.

Saw a cooking show and was told about making sure ur filets were soaked in ice water and made cold cold...didn't think it would matter.

It does

This is the correct answer and I don't even eat mustard as a condiment.

Try it both ways and repeat the one you like better, it's really personal preference
