I just purchased my first handgun...Sig Sauer p250 9mm for those who care.

I'm completely new to shooting ranges. How many are near the BR area? Where are they located and how much do they cost? thanks

There's a pretty good outdoor range at Sherburne that is free.

This will help

I make it a point to take my business elsewhere. The staff there is the worst out of any range I have ever shot at.

Go to Nicks, Bass Pro, Shereburne WMA

I've never heard of that port Allen range. Looks pretty damn nice.

Eta: I'm not too sure how precision stays open, I rarely hear a positive comment about it. Indoor ranges suck balls IMO.

I don't understand all the bitching about Precision. Follow the rules, pay your fee, punch paper.

Pistol is 50 ft I think. I have never used the rifle range.

Indoor ranges have gotten so expensive, thats the main reason I quit going. I rather spend the $20 on gas and drive to sherburne, be outside, and have longer ranges.

dont let Hunters Run fool you. Been going here to shoot clays for over a decade, and that part is OK. The pistol/rifle range is shite and you have to be a member ($250 a year) to use it. Also, the saving you get on clays doesn't equal the cost of membership unless you got a lot a lot IIRC.

I've never had a problem at Precision.

Or go to another range..Follow the rules, pay your fee, punch paper. That isnt run by people who seem to have been Bullied out of their lunch money as kids and now have guns.
