I know I have read somewhere on this board before about posters using these. How have they held up for saltwater use?

I'm sure there are some better reels out there but it's a great reel for the money. I mainly freshwater fish FWIW, but know many people who get many years of hard use out of them.

I don't have that specific model, but I have an older Citica that has hardly ever even seen freshwater outside of the hose I use to rinse it off with. At least 5 years of pretty moderate to agressive use in saltwater only and it's still casting smooth and the drag is still strong. I think I had mono on it at first, but I switched to 20 or 30lb PP shortly after and havent looked back since.

Great reel for the money, it's good practice to rinse (not soak) in freshwater after fishing in salt. Usually take it apart n oil it every couple of yrs. Still smooth casting and drag is tight

No input on that model, but ai had a citica 200d that was used for bass for a long time, then uses for trolling for kings from the yak for a long time. Then it got stolen, and God help whenever I see with my combo in their hands.

They're great reels. I own a couple that are 5 years old n still going strong. If you can afford it splurge on their big brother the Curado, quality difference is worth the price imo. If you want it to last > 1-2 years (and I mean cast as good as the day you bought it) watch a good YouTube video on how to remove and clean/oil the bearings. Oil usually comes with the real.

Holy shite. Nothing ever spooled you? Those first couple runs can be long. Especially with line out for trolling.

I have one that is 10+ that I had professionally cleaned etc once and all I do is trout and red fish. I have another that is probably 4-5 yrs old or so that is fantastic. The older is my third rig and my "company" rig. The newer one and a curado is what I use most. I rarely wash them off....
