Seeking Grand Isle Fishing Report

Feel like this is a weekly thread, any reports on water clarity or general action?

We fished over last weekend. Had fun, but didn't catch many keepers while in the boat. Once we moved to the surf we started catching some pretty good trout on croakers.

I'll be down there all weekend, so that automatically means the water will be filthy, the winds will be blowing in a circular motion around the island. The good news is the beer is cold.
Seriously though seemed like last weekend sucked pretty hard down there. Looks like the winds died down a little over the week though so hopefully things have cleared up. Perhaps someone else will be along who's been over the last day or so.

My Grandillian buddy reported 9 specs and a red in the surf on live this morning. Water wasn't good but not terrible. People fishing plastic got skunked.

Headed down in the am. I'll post about conditions tomorrow afternoon. Got 4 friends coming from out of state so I'm feeling all kinds of pressure to put them on fish.

Hopefully I'll have a decent report on Monday. Bringing along a couple crab traps to throw out at the beach and see how that goes as well.

Fish the beaches if the winds allow it. I jumped around the bay's last weekend and it was my worst catches of the summer. 20 on Friday and 4 on Saturday. It was to windy to fish the front.
There was also 3 million boats so that kinda pressure doesn't help either

What trout I caught last weekend were big. I'm hoping the water clears up a bit before Saturday. I did waste a lot of time pulling 2wd trucks out of the sand too.

Water the last two days has been very green. Didn't fish though I was working

Just got down here. Crossed the bridge and you could see color change. Going offshore though fri and sat. Heading home sat night if all goes well. I'll ask around Bridgeside for trout reports and post what I find out.

20 trout yesterday all inside about 2/3 on live shrimp, I was throwing a Vudu and did ok
38 today, most caught outfront of Elmers, picked up about 8 or so inside. Most caught on live shimp, but many caught on Vudu and H&H swim baits. Probably 100 trout caught today but many small trout.

Tagged 6 reds and 59 school trout this morning some were keepers but most were not...kept 4 reds for the grill and 3 doormats in the marsh back at the camp before 9
