Thinking hard about buying one. Any of the OT brethren have field reports?
Using it for duck and goose mainly. Some upland and sporting clays thrown in for practice.

Yeah I can get one for under $900 but don't want to if it's junk.

I've never heard anything bad about them. I have a couple of buddies that duck hunt with them. They absolutely love them.

Just buy a Stoeger M3500 and you'll be happier in the end

I've had one for the past three years and I love it. Never had a single issue with it and pass at lest 1.5 cases through it a year. Handles 3.5 inch shells very well too

You should be able to get a good deal on one since Win.is replacing it with the SX4. I had one, fine shotgun. I just could not shoot it well. If it ain't got a hump, I am lost.

you'll need to clean it more often bc it's a gas system. if you're ok with that, it's a good solid workhorse shotgun. never shot the stoeger, so can't comment there. shoulder it n see if you like it. the sx4 is still too new and has some issues that need working out.

My dad has one and he really likes it. Shoots well for him and has had no mechanical issues with it.

I think it's the same gas system that's in the maxus. has issues cycling cheap promo low/no brass loads under 1-1/8 oz. but has no problem with quality hi brass loads @ 1oz. FWIW

Got one a few years ago, love it. Shoulders and tracks well, not too heavy. Originally wanted an A5, but have been extremely happy with this gun at two thirds the price, would buy a SX3 over an A5 if I had to do it over again.

I have had an sx2, then upgraded to the 3. I love mine. Handles really well. I have had no issues. No problems in 15 deg weather with flurries. Duck, goose and some trap, all good. 3.5" are like a dream.

Thank you everyone. I think this seals the deal for me.
Great part about TD OB.

I absolutely love my sx3. Not a single issue in 3 seasons of heavy use. Probably ran 8 cases of shells through it so far.

I love mine too. Wouldn't trade it out.

This, one of the managers at my local Academy mentioned to me a few months ago that they put the x3's on clearance for $599. May be able to find a similar deal if you shop around at similar stores.
I like my SX3 a lot. It's light, shoulders fast, and is a work horse. Gas system doesn't like too much oil on it, it operates flawlessly when dry from an oil standpoint. Have also hunted in the pouring rain and never had an issue. I've had zero problems cycling any loads I've put through it down to the cheapo low power steel shot. I've also tried to out run it and can't. Fastest cycling shotgun I've put my hands on.
My only gripe is that I'd prefer a bigger stock shim to bring the stock down a bit, but that's personal preference.
I've also held and fiddled with an SX4, and I can't for the life of me get over how ugly it is. The little things like the bigger safety, bigger bolt release, etc.. are nice but not a big enough difference for me. It does however have a better stock drop angle for my preference.
