I come from some deep poor Arkansas types. My mom tells me stories of her dad always keeping a few of them around. Never knew why, but they had some, and ten times more other random things and critters.

Seems to me like more things they kept around to have things to keep after the kids for not keeping up with!

"Why didn't you bring in last night that wild turkey and those coyote pups I brought home?"

I heard a story on the radio about a neighborhood suing a neighbor over peacocks.

Apparently they are extremely loud.

I have one around me in East Feliciana. Loud as hell. Rarely see him but hear him. I also have two Macaws living in my trees. They are loud as hell too.

Are they related to turkeys? I went to a zoo a couple weeks ago and when we were eating lunch one walked up to us within a couple of feet and the beak, feet, etc. looked exactly like a turkey. Obviously the males do a similar thing with their tails also.

My dad told me long ago when a peacock hollers, it'll scare the hell out you if you don't know what it is...never heard one so I don't know. Anyone know if there's any truth to that?

They will also tear up a car if they see their reflection.
