Was invited to go sac a lait fishing this weekend in Texarkana. Tell me what tackle I need.

Never freshwater fish much. All I have is saltwater tackle.

This time of the year, a good jigging pole is a must or a fly rod/reel. The fish should be on the nest to spawn.

Tube jigs and hair jigs, you going to need. Some split shot lead that is 1/8 an oz along with some 2/0 Sac a lait hooks are needed if using shiners. The thin gold hooks. More, but this is a start.

the area dictates the tackle most times, ask the ones bringing you.

its going to be light tackle stuff and tiny baits

Sac-a-lait. Freshwater speckled trout. The most frustrating species of fish known to man.

Don't bother trying to figure those frickers out.

Dynamite works best.

I don't know about socky lats, but you can catch a bunch of crappie on these and minners. Cast the jig on one pole, put a minner on a drop rig or under a bobber on another.

You'll need a bobber, preferably a slip cork so you can get in the bushes if needbe.

There's a hundred different ways to fish for them. Depends on if they are shallow or deep. Find that out and we can help you
