should be a pretty substantial wind blowing off the gulf saturday. if you're fishing it, make sure everything is either tethered or stowed because there will be a bunch of folks upside down in the pass.

hey lets go post up next to the other 500 kayakers to put 600 lines next to each other in hopes one of the 6 bullreds bite my line. That sounds like a blast!

I did it once in 2015, I believe that was one of the years where 700+ people fished and there was around 22 fish caught. It's pretty much a fish lottery and was a pretty boring day, I don't see myself doing it again unless a group of friends want to go.

I'll be down there, my son wants to fish it so we signed up. First go round. Not real excited about the fishing but anytime I can hang out with him I'm in! Could turn into a cluster frick with this storm pushing water, wind and rain in?!?!

I was going to fish it one of those years, but had something come up. I legitimately LOL'd when I saw the number of fish caught.

I haven't seen any forecasts like that. Looks around 15mph from most sites on Saturday. Now I wouldn't stay the night for Sunday though.......

I think there were like 130 fish caught and weighed in last year.

Still, it's just a fishing lottery. Like the guy above, my son likes it and it makes for a good weekend for us. fish a bit on the way down Friday, maybe catch something nice in the pass Saturday, fish a bit on the way home sunday.

I agree. The best part about kayak fishing is going off and doing your own thing, sneaking up on reds, etc. Anchored in the pass with literally hundreds of other kayakers soaking crab on the bottom sounds terrible.

Safe fishing to all of those that do participate.

Haven't seen that either but weather channel now saying tropical storm winds could be in New Orleans as early as Sat 8am?!?!
Thinking I should just run down and haul my camper back?

Some of my favorite tournaments have been during the worst of conditons. Besides open water, RTB is a a decent bad weather tournament.

True PFD (not inflatable), waterproof speakers streaming music, two anchors, soaking bait on the bottom while enjoying a 12 pack with friends.

Anchor in 12-15 feet of water, toss out some cracked crab, open beer.

I can think of worse ways to spend the day
