Was at the Ouachita Gun Range and saw a man sighting in a 3030. He didnt know how to adjust left and right, so he told his son to just aim a foot left.. I was gonna help him but during the break he pointed to a box of 300 Win Mag Remington Corelokts and told his son that a 300 shot too fast for that bullet and those would break apart in the air. I decided not to tell him how to sight in his gun.

I think it was posted here before that a bullet would pretty much vaporize at about 400 yards because it was going wayyyyyyy too fast by the time it got there. Hence my bullets speed up comment

In my western literature class, the class had a 20 minute discussion about the symbolism of the character loading a revolver with one round but not placing the round in what they thought was the correct spot on the cylinder. He put it one spot away so when he cocked the hammer, it would be lined up correctly. I sat quietly and let them waste time.

Yep that would be the guy I work with.

I can't tell you how many arguments I've gotten in over the bullet rising theory. I always ask them did the bullet find a way to over come gravity or spread wings after it leaves the barrel?

I always thought, at least around where I live the 30-30 made such a good "brush" gun is because it's compact. It makes a great climber gun in the woods.

My one retarded thing is about solid bullets. "If a bullet don't blow up it just passes thru the deer doing very little damage."

and if it wasn't for the fact that we were having a discussion about guns/ammo, this guy seemed as intelligent as any person you would meet in a random situation.

"You can't shoot .22-250 when it's snowing. The fast-moving bullets are deflected/vaporized by hitting snowflakes."

The bullet is rising in the diagram.

because the barrel is pointing up.

That if you shot someone in the palm of their outstretched hand with a .45, it would knock them down (from the force).

A bullet fired into the air is harmless. Told to me by an inmate.
