If you would like to use a 870 wingmaster 20ga for a couple seasons that the stock was cut for little ones, you are more then welcome to use it.

I HAVE A 20ga Browning Gold Hunter. It refuses to cycle dove loads, so do not get one of those. Maybe they have fixed that problem over the years, but mine will not work.
Have you changed the gas ring around?

Remington 1100 youth model.. 20 years later still my go to squirrel and rabbit hunting gun..easy to pack and fast on the draw when them pesky wabbits try to get across the lane

I have a SKB sxs, a Browning A5, and a Winchester SX3. All in 20 ga. Hard to pick one. I shoot them all. The Win is very light and easy on recoil. Comes with shims and spacers to custom fit. Good choice.

CZ 720 ALS G2
quote:
The 720 outfitted with the ATI adjustable stock was originally designed as a shotgun to fit the entire family. The combination of the quick-handling, soft-shooting 720 with gas-operated action and the ATI stock makes it easy for smaller-framed people to handle and effectively shoot.

Any recs on a shop in or around BR that would custom fit a Beretta/Benelli?
I know most come with the shims. Figure if I'm going to spend $1200+ on a gun might as well have a professional set it up.

I would say either Bowies or Jims.

I will be buying another 870 youth for this, but I did not do well dove hunting with one a year or two ago.

A weatherby gas semi – buy a full size model and get a youth stock for $75 (brownells etc) I paid $400 for a used weatherby w/ ext chokes and have shot it at skeet/sporting clays. A cpl of regular shooters at sporting clays have them as well. They are a Turkish gun, ok quality for the price, need to be cleaned more often than other gas semis but good value. If money no object a buddy got his kid a M2 20ga and its great or go w/ a400 beretta in 20 but both will set you back.
My daughter shoots the weatherby w/ youth stock, she is 5’ and 100lb, it fits her well and she is starting to shoot it fairly well, it doesn’t kick at all w/ dove loads, can also shoot 3” as well – you have to change a gas bushing between high brass and low brass loads
