Pretty cool page. The church my family and I have been going to all my life. Built in 1902, St Elizabeth Catholic Church in paincourtville.

And I got slap drunk here numerous times. Don't know when it was built, but I know it's old as shite. Just shut it down either earlier this year or late last year.

My PawPaw had some pictures of him and his brother with a pirogue full of ducks..... Probably 2-300. He lost them to a flood in Hurricane Juan.

Really cool pics.

Staking out decoys... I've kind of done that before in a rice field. We bought a couple dozen new decoys once but forgot weights before we got to the camp. We tied them up with about a foot of line and a loop on the end. Took them out in the field and just hooked them down wind to clumps of rice stubble.

Of course the next weekend they were all blown up against the far levee...

Big Country -
I'm not far down the bayou from you. My uncle used to live in Paincortville and was married in that church.

I not live about 8 miles from this church and it is across the road from my hunting lease. I pass it everyday to and from work
