Ranger 570 (update)

Have a sportsman 570 and love it... but if getting a rangee get the 900 or 1000

I have the full size 570 and it does everything I need it to. I use it for pulling a disk for food plots, general work around the farm, deer hunting,etc. It does way better on some pretty rocky 4 wheeler trails than I expected.

It really all depends on how you plan to use it and what you expect from it. As others have stated the 570 is a strong power plant and does everything you need it to do in the yard and at the deer lease, I've had ours loaded with 300lbs of corn, climber and two grown men and it never seemed under powered

Now if your looking to put a 6" lift and 32" bkt tires, then yea stick with a 900 and above

The 570 will be more than enogh for hunting club use. Unless you use it on a farm for utility use REGULARLY the 900 is overkill and a wasre of money.

Remember when i rode my first Honda Foreman 400 back mid 90s, i thought it was huge and no way someone would possibly need something that big to hunt with. I was used to double heading to the stand on a honda 250 3 wheeler. We are spoiled as shite with these machines today.

We recently bought the 1000xp in October of last year. It was real close between the pioneer 1000-5, the 570 ranger, and the 1000xp. We ultimately chose the 1000xp due to the upgraded suspension it offered. While we don't have crazy deep mud holes or hellacious mountains in Clinton where we hunt, we have had numerous problems with other atvs, utvs, and tractors with suspension and steering components so we decided to go with the machine that had the beefiest frame, a arms, and shocks. The xp rides like a dream over anything you put in front of it.

ETA the bad side to the 900/1000xp is they require a 6foot wide trailer. So we had to end up buying a new trailer too.

One of my best friends has a Polaris dealership. He said that Abernathy in this part of the country sells way more machines than any other dealer.

I don't remember the number but it was like 3 or 4 to 1. Said they sell at cost or a slight loss and jack up the cost on all the accessories.

Just remember on a polaris, trying to take of smoothly accelerates belt wear. Just give it gas and go.

The clunk noise is a good thing.

Where did you end up buying?

Price comparable to Abernathy's? I'm about to get on the hunt for a new one.

+1 for atv zone. They warranty the hell out of their machines and fix it with no hassles
