Join GSSF for 2 years. $60. In 2 weeks or so get your membership card in. Bring it to a "blue" dealer. Buy a Gen 4 with 3 mags for $430 plus tax. Next year you can buy another.

One other comment: All the Gen 2's will have the Tenifer coating (under the finish).

The newer Glocks have a nitrate/nitride ?? under-coating that is supposed to be just as good as the Tenifer.

But Ternifer is still the "gold standard" for protection against rust & corrosion. This might add marginal value to the older model Glocks.

Was out to lunch today, heard some old timers talking about ahooting...long story short one was a gunsmith and does FFL transfers for 20 bucks so looks like to the internet it is.

Wanted to support local small shops but prices are just too far over MSRP.

go to your local pawn shop
see if they can order from the local distributor
if so negotiate a mark up over cost

Or you can get blue label from glock if you are retired military/police, fire/ems, glock shooting sports foundation, quite a few other things.

I get mine due to fire/ems falling under the umbrella of homeland security. I own 3 that are all blue label, and just bought a g17 that was full price because I like the green frame that is out in short supply now

Here's the blue label info: Glock Blue Label Program
